Subject: SECOND WARNING: Keywording Needs Improvement
Contributor,
IMPORTANT - SECOND WARNING
Please follow these suggestions for more accurate and efficient keyword management:
1) Limit yourself to 20 simple keywords that closely relate to the depicted subject matter. Buyers also use simple terms when searching for imagery and expect accurate search results.
2) Do not duplicate disambiguated terms.
3) Disambiguate with care. This level of keyword refinement must also closely and accurately relate to the depicted subject matter. Be aware that a term will not show unless it has been disambiguated.
4) If you are uploading a batch of files with differences in subject matter, be sure to fine tune each file's keywords (including disambiguation) for accuracy.
5) Do not use trademarked terms for creative royalty-free imagery because they pose a legal risk for iStock. Trademarked terms are permissible for Editorial content only. (Examples: FIFA World Cup, iPad, iPhone, Apple Computers, Boeing, Raytheon, Airbus, Kalashnikov, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Fitbit, Bluetooth, Android, Six Sigma, Prozac, Vespa, Piaggio, Lego, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, GoPro, Botox, Airsoft, Crossfit, etc.).
6) Avoid copying another contributor's keywords because you cannot be sure they are accurate or entirely suitable for your image. By creating your own set of keywords, you will be in command of your portfolio's metadata.
