Hi, Fotolia team!
Today I recieved a message that my tax forms were validated.
Now I want to know what tax rate set in these forms, because when I submitted them and
look inside it I found that p. 9a is without a marked checkbox. Then I thought that was
my mistake and I sibmitted new form with marked checkbox, but when I look inside it
again situation not change (p. 9a still without a marked checkbox).
And now I can't look inside my validated tax forms and see on this p.9a, can you say me
what tax rate will be used when I was convert my earnings money into cash.
P.S. At the other sites (Shutterstock, Veer) W8-BEN form was filled and disp layed
correctly with checked p. 9a and 0% tax rate (my Country is Russian Federation).
Thank You
Thank You.
Answers: Fotolia : Did you fill out an ITIN? This is the only way to enjoy treaty
benefits and avoid withholdings at Fotolia if Russia is a tax treaty country.
How I understand your answer for use p.9a I must have ITIN number. But I haven't it.
Can you specify this question with IRS, because on the other sites ITIN no needen if your country is a tax treaty country.
Lower I perform you how this question resolved at Shatterstock:
"Group A2 -- If you are submitting to Shutterstock as an individual and are a resident of a country that has a tax treaty with the U.S., then please submit Form W-8BEN digitally on Shutterstock's website to benefit from the reduced or zero withholding rate that is specified in your country's tax treaty. Note that a U.S. Tax ID # (TIN) is not required for Group A2"
